Colin joined the allotment in August 2021. One of the first things he told me when we met was that he always enjoyed helping his grandparents in their garden while he was growing up, and he wanted to pass that on to his wee one.

Colin’s favourite thing about the allotment is that he finds it very relaxing spending time on the site, and he gets a sense of fulfilment in growing food for his family and friends.

His favourite thing to grow is tomatoes, although he’s also growing different varieties of potatoes this year and he can’t wait to see how they turn out.

You can see from the photos below how much work Colin has put into his plot – his homemade polytunnel in particular is much admired by other residents! He also put his handiwork to use in laying the foundations for 17 new sheds on the expansion, for which we are very grateful!
